OUR VISION

We, families who have lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and straight members, and their friends, celebrate diversity and envision a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Only with respect, dignity and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings, individually and collectively. PFLAG for Families of Color and Allies in New York City (PFLAG FCA, NYC) welcomes the participation and support of all who share in, and hope to realize, this vision. We strive to have us all—people of different races, ethnicities and cultures, standing together and united by the love of our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender children, families and friends.

OUR MISSION

PFLAG for Families of Color and Allies in New York City (PFLAG FCA, NYC) is a family organization that strives to maintain family unity. PFLAG FCA, NYC promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights. PFLAG FCA, NYC provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. PFLAG FCA, NYC seeks to create cross-culture synergism and to make our ethnic communities safe for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons through education and advocacy.
